Pet names...

The other day I received my first pet name!! LOL, I know what some of you are thinking! But it’s been awhile since I have been in a relationship. Many of you might not know that I was married and put myself through one of the hardest lessons yet learned. I thought I had married the man of my dreams but realized shortly after that it was just the opposite. After ten short months (which actually felt like years) we divorced. I was physically and emotionally in ruins. But one thing I have learned, time really does heal scars no matter how deep they are. A little over a year had passed and I had decided that I was comfortable enough to start dating. There were a couple of guys that came and went. I realized that I had learned a lot from my ex and knew what I wanted and didn’t want in a relationship. I don’t think a guy lasted longer than two to three weeks. Until I meet Sterling, my boyfriend. We talked on the phone almost every night for hours on end. I meet him for the first time when I was looking into a job in Provo with the same company. He had just purchased a home in Orem and was working two full time jobs, so trying to find a time to meet in person was hard. But he was kind enough to drop by my cousin place to play games then he gave me a tour of his new home. We were up till 5 am talking. I later took the job in Provo (and not because of him, it was honestly the step up in the company that I was looking for). After moving to Provo we became closer friends. We would occasionally work on his house together doing things like painting, sanding, a little demo. We both agreed that it would be best if we were just friends, and we promised to let the other know if feelings were getting involved. After four months of friendship we had become really good friends. We are comfortable talking about anything and everything no matter what the subject. Until last Sunday, we were at I hop for dinner, talking about various things, then he asked if he could talk to me about something. I agreed and he replied by saying “I just don’t want things to change between us”. So my first thought was “We drove here in my car, he will just have to find a ride home!” (lol there’s that past creeping up with me). He then reminds me of the promise we made a while back, about telling the other person if we were getting feelings. He then told me he was dreading the day I tell him about a date I had and him not being able to bare it because he would be so jealous! My heart melted and agreed that we should take our relationship to the next level. So we have been “officially” dating for 5 days!! And the other night I received my first pet name! I got all giggly and literally melted. He probably doesn’t even know how it made me feel but I loved it!
