Life....on the boring end!

I know I haven’t been posting much on my blog lately. My life is so boring that there really isn’t anything worth bogging about! This last week I have thought a lot about my goals. The major one being my financials. The market is what I call “a buyers market”. Outside of doing some investing I have been trying to lose some weight in order to get ready for this summer weather wear (the dreaded swimsuit!). This past fall I found some really awesome deals (they were $1 each!) on swimsuits at the mall and I am really excited to see how they look! Wish me luck! I am usually so faithful to my 6 day workout weeks and my die hard 1200 calorie diet but these past two weeks have proven to be very hard to stick to!
This past week I have really being fighting with Spring fever! On Monday I almost bought a Audi, Tuesday I was planning on driving up to Park City for a major over haul shopping spree, Wednesday a pure breed dog, Thursday Gucci handbag, and the list goes on! I just cant understand my desire to splurge! It totally goes against my financial goals! And the worst part is I probably would have made a huge purchase except there was a security breech with my bank and my use of my debit card is non existent and no one accepts out of state checks! SO that left me with the cash in hand (which is basically nothing!). But for the time being I have been trying to find a new place closer to work. It has proven to be quite the challenge, as there are SO many options! I have been saving up for a nice down payment on a house but fear I might not stick around the area long enough for a purchase so big. Who knows what I will end up doing, but I think I will just keep leasing until things in my life become more solid.
I am really looking forward to March! Bring on the warmer weather! A trip to Vegas with the girls is in the works for later this month and maybe a trip to Boise to see the family! Unfortunately the trip to Boise is due to the declining health of my grandma. I guess the good Lord needs her, and she will be able to be reunited with her husband! On the other hand April will hopefully prove to be yet another exciting month! I will be turning the big 25! Scary! But the good news is that 24 was well lived! And I say that because ever since I was little I have been convinced that age 24 is the best age to be! (long with 32!). Why I think this, I cant explain. Well hopefully I haven’t put you to sleep with this rather random, boring blog. And I promise my next blog will be way more interesting!

Valentine's Day!

Who doesn’t love Valentine’s day??!! Did you know that 188 million Valentine's Day cards are exchanged annually, making Valentine's Day the second-most popular greeting-card-giving occasion. (This total excludes packaged kids valentines for classroom exchanges.) Just a little piece of interesting info. So you are probably thinking that my Valentine’s day started off with a card…nope something even better! Roses! Yep, my boyfriend surprised me with the prettiest bouquet of red roses! I was simply happy knowing that he had the day off and that we were going to hang out all day, but roses defiantly made the day much more special! So the first thing we did was run out to Nestles store and picked up some yummy food then ran back into town to drop off some food to Sterling’s boss. That was the boring part. What normally would be a 5 minute thing at max turned into an hour! I sat in the car hungry and smelly (I hadn’t had time to get ready for the day yet, scary I know!). But it really didn’t bother me, I found some chocolate in the car and turned up the radio and waited. After he found his way back to the car ha ha we went out to Denny’s for breakfast. After Denny’s we watched a couple of episodes of HOUSE, took a nap, and then made our way out for dinner. We put our names down on the 2 hour waiting list for Red Lobster and strolled around the mall (namely Victoria Secret) to kill time. Dinner was wonderful! The food was prefect and the company was even better! I love spending time with Sterling. We could have done nothing all day but bummed around and I would have loved every minute of it. This Valentine’s day was by far the best! Thank you Sterling (aka my beefcake ;) lol)

Cars!

I have owned only 2 cars in my life, one of which I am still driving. Both cars were purchased on February 14th! When I tell people that they instantly say “valentine’s day can’t be that bad!” It’s not that valentine’s day is such a depressing day that I resort to making huge purchases like a car but it just happened that way. This year might prove to be the same. Why you may ask… vehicle upkeep! Within the last week I will have put out enough money on upkeep for my car to make a nice down payment on a new car! It started a week ago when I needed to renew my registration. Is it just me or does the cost of tabs go up every year! Then my breaks start to make this squeaking noise! So I took my car into Les Schwab only to be told that they don’t carry the breaks my car needs and give me a price quote of $350 just for my two rear breaks to be replaced, nothing else! Thankfully they didn’t have the breaks so I went home completely frustrated and determined to start looking for a new car. My boyfriend calls me up worried I had fallen for Les Schwab prices and assures me that there are cheaper places. So all for the greater part of Saturday I called all over Provo and Orem getting price quotes for my rear brakes! I finally found Midas who will replace my breaks for $89 each! What a price difference! Now I just have to find a place who will correct the problem Les Schwab caused when they rotated my tires! Even though the rotation was free they could of told me that each tire needed to be rebalanced! I found this out the hard way! I was driving up to SLC to have lunch with my brother and his wife and when I hit the interstate at 60 I had to pull off because my car was shaking so bad that I thought pieces of my car were going to pop off, starting with my steering wheel then the dashboard! I probably shouldn’t have drove it any further but I was so mad that I didn’t care anymore! I wanted a new car! So today on my lunch break I will be making the run to Midas to replace my breaks, then after work run back to Les Schwab to balance my tires then to Jiffy lube to get my oil changed! I promise myself if one more thing goes a miss I’m looking for a new car! The sad thing is my car is only 4 years old! Maybe car years are like dog years…

Four hours later: My brakes are finally done but I learned that I need to replace a tire! Why Les Schwab didnt tell me this last Saturday-I dont know! But the good news is that the cost was half of what I was originally told! And my tires are balanced! Thanks to the guys at Midas I finally feel like I can afford to upkeep my car and feel like I’m not getting ripped off. The only downer- the place smelled so strong of car parts and stuff that it made me sick enough to lose my breakfast and lunch! Next time I will wait for my car across the street at Wendys! lol.
