Happy Birthday Sterling!!

Last Thursday was Sterling’s birthday! Unfortunately he had to work both jobs so we were unable to do anything on his actual birthday. We did however have Café Rio for dinner that night…together… in the car….outside the Nestle plant…ah romantic! On Friday I made his favorite dinner, chicken in duck sauce. Thank you Jeanie for the recipe! It turned out perfectly! Sterling worked outside on the yard until dinner was ready and when he walked in the whole house smelled so yummy! Reminded us both of home. After dinner we had some birthday cupcakes and Dr. Pepper (Sterling’s favorite)! Friday was the start of his five day, which means he only has to work one job! It’s been so nice to have him at home! He works so hard for our little family. Tonight we will be dinning at a Chinese restaurant that just opened. Sterling has been more than exciting for this place to open up and on Saturday we drove past it on our way to Lowes to find that it has finally opened! Tonight I hope to get some updated pictures of us and of all the hard work Sterling has done in the yard!

Family Outing

Yesterday after church we decided to head up the Provo canyon for a little R&R outdoors. Sterling brought along his fishing pole just to see if he could get a bit or two. He loves to fish!! And you can tell its finally turning fall! The colors were just gorgeous along the hill sides! Sterling fished for a little then we headed to the same spot Sterling purposed to me to just relax in the sun and enjoy our time together. I gave him a mini face massage to make up for falling asleep the night before. And we simply relaxed. Sterling could really tell I had relaxed because on the drive home he mentioned that I looked really tired. I tried to explain to him that what he sees is called pregnancy glow…didn’t really work, I still looked tired to him. Once we got home we did our norm for a Sunday evening, ate and enjoyed movies in bed together! Ah how I love spending time with my hubby!

Sterling fishing...

What?!!! Im on birth control!!!

Will the doctor who prescribed me the birth control please step forward!! I need some answers! So this is a HUGE shock to both Sterling and I!! We have just found out we are expecting a little "icky icky". We call the baby "icky icky" because we both agree it must be a boy, and my nickname for Sterling is Icky- so this little guy gets the nick name icky icky. I must be honest with you, I am no where close to being ready for a life of a mother. Sterling and I agreed we were going to wait a couple of years to get the house and financials squared away before we started a family. I guess the Lord has something else in mind for us! We still haven't told anyone until we have our first appointment (kind of the final confirmation we need I guess). It still really hasn't hit me yet, I just feel sick and worried all the time. And lately I feel extremely fat! All I want to do some days are curl up in bed and sleep! And trust me there are times where I just clock out and walk up a couple of hours later! I do have to admit I get a little more excited when I see all the newborns (ex: Max). Makes my heart melt! Then my mind starts working and I think of all the pain of having a baby and all the fears of being a mother! At that point I start to cry or pass out from complete exhaustion! BUT I am blessed with the most caring and loving husband who has done nothing but support me! (and the water works begin!). Seriously Sterling has been the only thing that keeps me going, gets me out of bed and moving forward. His constant care and excitement helps me SO much! I can tell he has such a great love for this baby already!

I did it!

It all started late Friday night. I was being lazy and watching 30 Rock on netflix in bed with what was left of my sisters ice cream (she bought when she was here on Tuesday and I couldn't let it go bad). The second season show called "Jack gets in the game" was what I was watching. The first part, Jack has a $50 steak in his office and calls Liz in only to watch her eat it (Jack cant have steak because of his heart attack). Well that's when it hits!! "Ah I wanted steak so bad!" All of the sudden my taste buds could remember Sunday dinners at home with the BBQ and Costco steaks. I immediately text Sterling and tell him we need to have steak for dinner and soon! So he suggest picking some up for Sunday dinner. So Saturday morning I make my trek to Costco (A place I hardly go because it is plagued with people especially on Saturday!) I make my way back to the meat and selectively find just the right steaks! I also pick up some salad, rolls and mashed potatoes. I love their deli department! Sunday comes and we patiently wait for lunch/dinner to come. I think we both were craving steak more then we cared to admit. After carefully cooking the steaks in our "special" oven- Wa-la! We have a steak dinner! I had to take a picture because I was so proud of myself! The picture is of my plate (hence the cut up steak, I like it pre cut makes it easier/faster to eat haha).

Christmas

Oh how I wish it was Christmas!! I want the holidays to be here, to spend time with all the family, eat my weight in food (mostly chocolate). To help with the Christmas itch I had my favorite Christmas movie sent to me via Netflix, yes that's right I had "How the Grinch stole Christmas" (the original story not with Jim Carey-icky).
While I sit here watching "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" I have decided to indulge in a couple Riesens chocolate candies....mmmmm....I so look forward to Christmas!
