Hi, my name is Lucy..

5 weeks

Yep this is the first smile caught on film!!! I waited over an hour for this...so worth the wait!!

4 weeks old!!

Our little Lucy is growing so fast! She is now 4 weeks old and I had to take pictures of her all dressed up. I quickly found out that she does not like big flowers on her head, and got mad that I placed her on her belly to take pictures. She was so mad that she tried to roll over (with moms help). Her favorite thing to do is snuggle with mom and dad. And for the first time ever she sleep 5 straight hours!! She still occasionally prefers to sleep with the lamp on in her room, she loves the light! She is slowly getting use to being in her swing while mom works out (it makes her mad that she can see me but I wont hold her). When she gets really mad and cries she looks like an old man with a sun burn...makes me giggle a little. Only one "confirmed" smile and giggle so far, though she loves to smile and giggle in her sleep all the time. Makes me wonder what she dreams about.

What has Sterling been doing....

Sterling has been very busy digging up the main water line and getting all the tree stumps removed from the yard. This week we will be replacing the main water line and getting a new hot water tank! OH YEAH- We planted 3 new trees on the west side of the house (pictures coming soon)!

I cant help myself...I love taking pictures of our little Lu! Im thinking that I really need (more like want) adobe photoshop to edit some of these pictures for her album/babybook.

Easter

Our first Easter together as a family! We watched General Conference and enjoyed the company of Nikki and Brandon. I cant wait till Lucy is old enough to do Easter egg hunts and decorate eggs, what fun that will be. Sterling was so sweet and gave his girls this bouquet of flowers (knowing better then to bring home chocolate because I am trying to lose the pregnancy weight). Isnt he perfect!

Our Little Chu

It amazes me just how fast our little Lucy is growing! Last Friday Lucy had her 2 week check up. She has gained a pound (7 pounds 12 ounces) and grown a half inch (19 3/4)! Every day that goes by I can see our little chu changing. Sterling and I quickly found that our little girl does not like the dark! She will fuss and cry until the light is turned on and then she ok. She loves to lay on her changing table/pad because its right next to the window and she can see light outside. I really wish I had a video camera to capture some of her funny moments. Grandma and Grandpa Gropp got Lucy a swing and she is starting to love it. It took some time for her to get use to someone not holding her. She also loves her play mat loaded with bright toys. she is still getting use to her binky and gets super mad when I try to give it to her instead of a bottle.
What a blessing she is in our home. We look forward to seeing more of her character and personality come out as she gets older. And even more excited when we can get her to smile and laugh (and not from gas) haha.
